Waunakee Tribune: On July 1, the Waunakee Area EMS will move from a one-ambulance EMT level to staffing two ambulances at the paramedic level of response, which will give the Emergency Medical Service the ability to intubate patients in the field and administer 47 additional types of medication.
The agency is working with the UW EMS Consortium for medical direction of the additions and ongoing operations at the paramedic level. The consortium has seven physicians and four physician’s assistants to help with training and oversight. Read the full article.
