Dr. Sara Damewood receives national award from the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships

Sarah Damewood, MDCongratulations to Dr. Sara Damewood, DEM ultrasound chief and clinical US fellowship director, for receiving the Shazam Award from the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships. This award recognizes her impactful leadership in the development and accreditation of ultrasound (US) fellowships nationwide, including here at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

Dr. Damewood is nationally recognized for her involvement with national fellowship curriculum development and was appointed to and currently serves on the inaugural Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council, tasked with the accreditation of emergency ultrasound fellowships, integral to ABEM’s Advanced Emergency Ultrasound Focused Practice Designation.

Dr. Damewood’s expertise in emergency ultrasound, as well as her drive, strategic vision and ability to collaborate across specialties, have been a true asset to our department and the US community nationwide.
