The BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine is led by Dr. Manish N. Shah, who has served as chair since 2022.

Manish N. Shah, MD, MPH, is The Azita G. Hamedani Distinguished Chair of Emergency Medicine and Chair of the BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He joined the department in 2015, serving as vice chair of research until transitioning to department chair.

Dr. Shah is a professor of emergency medicine with faculty appointments in population health sciences and geriatrics, as well as leadership appointments at the Wisconsin Partnership Program and UW Center for Health Disparities Research. More about Dr. Shah »
