Dr. Jewell graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine before heading to the University of Wisconsin for residency, where he served as chief resident before moving on to a fellowship in education and later staying on at UW as full-time faculty. He shares his clinical time between the emergency departments at UW Health and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. Dr. Jewell is passionate about improving resident and medical student education and is working towards a Master’s in Health Professions Education (MHPE) at the University of Illinois-Chicago. He also serves as the Longitudinal Teaching Coach at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and ECG I Associate Director with Foundations of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Jewell leads the medical student clerkship team for emergency medicine. His areas of scholarly interest include the transition to residency, residency recruitment, and curriculum design in emergency medicine. In his free time, he enjoys playing video and board games and spending time outdoors with his wife and dog.
