Dr. Joshua Gauger completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and his medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Gauger also earned his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State in Tempe. He subsequently completed an emergency medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati, where he served as Resident Assistant Medical Director for the Center for Emergency Care at UC Hospital during his final year of training.
Dr. Gauger is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Wisconsin and currently serves as Medical Director for the BerbeeWalsh Emergency Department at UW Health University Hospital. In this role, Dr. Gauger focuses on maintaining an efficient and productive care team to provide outstanding emergency care to every patient. He also finds enjoyment in his non-clinical work, including quality improvement, patient safety, and operations. His current projects include work on sepsis, stroke, and trauma. Additionally, Dr. Gauger serves as the lead for the emergency medicine residency quality improvement and patient safety curriculum.
