Dr. Tajah Tubbs earned her bachelor’s degree in human biology from Stanford University and completed medical school at UCLA. There, she was a member of the PRIME-LA (Program in Medical Education – Leadership & Advocacy) program focused on serving medically underserved communities. She has an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a concentration in health management, working on clinical administrative projects with her Native tribe, the Mashpee Wampanoag. Dr. Tubbs completed residency at UCSF and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, where she was a chief resident and stayed for a one-year administrative fellowship.
Dr. Tubbs joined the emergency medicine faculty at UW–Madison with a focus on quality improvement, operations, and health care administration. She is particularly passionate about the intersection of administrative efforts with mitigating gaps in health outcomes, and how operational improvements impact medically underserved communities.
Outside of work, Dr. Tubbs enjoys hiking, outdoor adventures, cooking, baking, cleaning (yes, cleaning), trying new restaurants, trivia, and spending time with her husband, Goldendoodle Hank, and the newest addition to their family!
